CONSTRUCTION
MATERIALS TESTING (CMT) &
NON-DESTRUCTIVE
EVALUATION (NDE) SERVICES
Construction
materials testing (field quality control) and non-destructive testing
help to determine conformance to project specifications during construction,
thus preventing costly damages resulting from substandard materials
and/or unsatisfactory materials installation.
Gallet &
Associates provides comprehensive field and laboratory testing for
soil, concrete, asphalt, roofing, welding and steel bracing.
We utilize state-of-the-art laboratories for testing soil, concrete,
asphalt and roofing samples. Tests are conducted in accordance
with American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), FAA, COE, British
Standard, International Systems Organization (ISO) Committee and
other testing authorities. Our labs have been inspected by
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and AASHTO for conducting testing
for U.S. government projects. The Birmingham operation laboratory
was the first in Alabama to be listed on the AASHTO Website, for
obtaining accreditation in concrete, aggregates and asphalt.

Personnel
include technicians certified by recognized groups such as the State
Concrete Industries Associations (SCIA), the Roofing Industry Education
Institute (RIEI), American Welding Society (AWS) and the National
Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET).
Staff attends International Building Code (IBC) courses on
a regular basis.
Our most common
materials testing services are:
- Concrete (Including Batch Plant) Strength, Using Either Cylinders
or Beams
- Mortar Cube and Stacked Block Prism Tests
- Floor Flatness Testing ("F" Number)
Inspection
services include:
- Structural Steel Inspection, Using Visual Bolt Torque
