ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

Gallet & Associates has performed thousands of Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for lending institutions, developers, retailers and individuals. From initial Phase I ESAs to the subsurface exploration and testing programs of Phase II ESA investigations, subsequent remediation, and risk compliance and follow-up programs, our staffs deliver professional service and prompt reporting.

We have extensive experience with hazardous waste management and remediation methodologies required under the guidelines of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).   Our staff has completed RCRA Ground Water Quality Assessments (GWQAs), RCRA Facility Assessments (RFAs), RCRA Facility Investigations (RFIs), RCRA Closure and Post-Closure Plans and RCRA Closure Certifications for various types of industries.

Our environmental personnel have assisted with Subtitle D landfill permitting and the design and implementation of groundwater-monitoring networks that respond to the regulatory requirements for Subtitle D landfill permitting.   These landfill-permitting services typically include the site-specific evaluation of the geology and hydrogeology, a public water well inventory, wetlands and archaeological studies, and threatened and endangered species investigations.

We have expertise in risk assessments, and have conducted a number of Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA) studies per EPA and various state guidelines.  Our risk assessments are used to determine the potential effects to human health and the environment associated with contaminated soil or groundwater.

In recent years, regulations for underground storage tanks (USTs) have increased in scope and complexity. As a UST Trust Fund contractor in a number of states, Gallet & Associates has coordinated the removal and closure of tanks, and provided follow-up investigations when required, including Preliminary and Secondary Investigations, Corrective Action Plans, Risk Assessments, and groundwater monitoring.

National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permitting and monitoring, including stormwater monitoring, is one of many federal permitting and monitoring programs that we conduct. We also prepare Spill Prevention and Counter Control (SPCC) plans, and Best Management Practices (BMP) Plans.

The biologists, ecologists, scientists, geologists and engineers at Gallet & Associates have worked at all levels of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation process, for clients such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Energy, the General Services Administration, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Wetlands delineations require specialized knowledge of wetland soils, vegetation and hydrology, as well as familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, State and local wetlands requirements. We have provided wetlands siting and delineation services for commercial and residential developments, as well as greenfield and brownfield industrial sites.   We also have experience in wetlands banking and mitigation, including the construction, restoration and enhancement of wetlands systems.

Our staff has experience in the identification of unique ecosystems, vegetation unit mapping, botanical taxonomy and other types of floral and faunal surveys, including threatened and endangered species. Our expertise allows us to assist our clients in obtaining timely project approval from the involved government agencies.

Environmental protection is a national priority. Planning and executing strategies to help our clients comply with the maze of federal, state, and local regulations is a complicated task. It is our goal to provide you with cost-effective solutions, on a schedule that accommodates your business needs.
