The warranty covers manufacturing defects but does not cover damage caused by improper use, accidents, or normal wear and tear. For more details, please go to the Warranty page.

Watches equipped with a Breitling Manufacture mechanical movement are covered by the Breitling International Warranty for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase of the watch.

The international warranty is activated automatically upon purchase in-store, or upon shipment for online orders.

For Gallet watches, the warranty cannot be extended.

Check the reference engraved on the caseback of your watch.

If the second letter is a G and the following two digits are 09, your watch is equipped with a Breitling manufacture movement.

When you purchase a new Gallet watch through the official Gallet Online Boutique, your electronic warranty will display "Gallet Online Boutique" as the retailer.

About My Gallet

The serial number is an identification number that allows you to identify your watch. This number is unique for each Gallet watch. You can find it on the documents handed to you with the watch at purchase, like the International Warranty certificate, or on the case-back of your watch.

A reference number uniquely identifies each watch model, including its design, movement, and features.

You can find the reference number on the documents provided at the time of purchase, such as the International Warranty certificate, or engraved on the case-back of your watch.

A chronograph is a watch with stopwatch functions, enabling the measurement of the duration of an event, using a specific hand or display that can be started, stopped and returned to zero.

A chronometer is a watch that has obtained a certification by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres – COSC). To achieve this certification, the movement of the watch must successfully pass specific precision tests in different positions and at different temperatures, over a 15-day period. The standards set by the COSC allow a maximum average deviation of : -4 to +6 seconds per day for mechanical watches.

Selected Gallet watch movements are certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), an independent body that verifies timekeeping performance under controlled conditions. Certification is awarded after a 15-day testing programme covering different positions and temperatures.

COSC standards allow an average daily rate variation of -4 to +6 seconds for mechanical movements.

Across the collection, every Gallet timepiece is developed with a strong commitment to precision, reliability, and long-term performance.

The water resistance of your Gallet depends on the construction of its case. However your watch needs to be regularly serviced in order to keep its original level of water resistance: this is due to the fact that the gaskets sealing the watch-case naturally dry out over time, and therefore need to be replaced. Consequently your watch should undergo a water resistance test every year and a maintenance service every 2 years.

The degree of water resistance of your Gallet is described either in meters, or in bars (1 bar~10 m = approx. 33 ft). Note: these figures reflect a technical norm and do not represent the exact depth the watch can be immersed at, while being worn. “Water resistant up to X meters” means the watch can be exposed to the pressure that it would have to sustain, if it was placed at X meters depth in a completely static environment and position. However, the wearer’s movements (diving, jumping, swimming, etc…) as well as the force of the water (shower jets, river currents, etc…) can considerably increase the pressure on your watch.

For more details on the level of water resistance you can expect of your watch, please go to the Information on Water Resistance page.

To authenticate your Gallet watch, it must be sent to one of our Gallet Main Centers. Begin by sending your watch to any Gallet service center or by bringing it into a Breitling Boutique, requesting a Certificate of Authenticity, and your watch will be passed on accordingly. Fees and return times will vary.

An authentication includes the analysis of the watch and the delivery of a Certificate of Authenticity. If non-compliant parts need to be exchanged to return the watch to its original condition, these will be invoiced separately. Gallet service centers and boutiques do not assess the value of your timepiece.

A maintenance service is recommended every 2 years and includes: checking movement parameters and watch functions, changing all seals, checking water resistance, cleaning the case and metal bracelet.

A complete service is recommended every 4 to 6 years and includes: disassembly, cleaning and replacing of standard movement parts, assembly, lubrication, adjustment and setting of movement function parameters; changing all seals, partial changing of hands and checking of water resistance; refurbishment* of the case and metal bracelet.

*Excludes models with black carbon surface treatments.

In addition to a maintenance service every two years and a complete service every four to six years, we recommend regular water-resistance tests.

The appropriate testing frequency depends on how the watch is worn. If the watch is frequently exposed to water, a test should be performed approximately once a year—ideally before any occasion involving immersion, such as a holiday.

You will find further details on the maintenance of your watch on Our Services.

For more details on water resistance, please go to the Information on Water Resistance page.
